    05/01/12 A letter from EAST's new co-ordinator

    Dear All I hope you are now starting to think about sailing this year and more specifically sailing with EAST!!

    If you would like to participate in any of the cruises this year please contact me if you have any questions OR just send the application form to the address below. Deadlines for applications are as follows but I’d appreciate earlier commitment if you can. If you think you are a “maybe” please let me know early and confirm by the following dates: 6 April for weekend of 11 - 13 May 31 May for summer cruise of 13 - 22 July 20 August for weekend of 21 - 23 September I look forward to hearing from you soon.     2012 cruising programme

    2012 PROGRAMME AND CHARGES FOR YACHT CRUISES The following programme is an indication of intention. Plans will change if weather conditions demand. All events start on the evening of day 1 and end after lunch of the last day All events start and end at Suffolk Yacht Harbour on the River Orwell, Suffolk. Spring weekend: 11-13 May 2012 (3 nights) Thursday evening: dinner on board followed by reception to meet other crews Friday - Sunday: Mini-cruise on the east coast Summer Cruise Week: 13-22 July 2012 (9 nights) Friday: dinner on board followed by reception to meet other crews Saturday-Saturday: sailing to destinations between Lowestoft and the Blackwater River. NB Several nights could be spent away from marinas therefore without shower facilities or mains electricity TASTER weekend: 21-23 September 2012 (2 nights) Friday: dinner on board followed by reception to meet other crews Saturday-Sunday sailing in and around the rivers Stour and Orwell CHARGES for 2012 All crew are required to make a contribution towards costs:  £225 Summer cruise (9-nights)  £75 Spring weekend (3-nights)  £50 late Summer weekend. 2-nights The contribution includes all meals on board, at least one meal ashore and all drinks on board. NOT included are: a. bar bills b. transport to and from Suffolk Yacht Harbour The Skipper of the yacht you are assigned to will contact you before the event to discuss your needs ie special dietary requirements, any physical or medical condition of which the he/should be aware for safety purposes and your travel arrangements. It is not guaranteed but your skipper might be able to arrange for you to be collected from Ipswich Station.
